Sara is a 2001 graduate of Colo-NESCO and is currently living in Des Moines, Iowa. During her time at Colo-NESCO, Sara ran cross country, played basketball, and dual sported in soccer and track in the spring.
Sara's passion and dedication to athletics showed when she dual sported in the spring and her commitment to the cross country team.
Sara was a huge part of the Colo-NESCO cross-country team during her time at Colo-NESCO. Sara was a four-time state qualifier and helped her team qualify for state all four years as well. Her best finish as an individual came her junior year where she placed 18th. She helped her cross-country team finish 12th, 9th, 11th, and 11th during the four-year state run.
Sara was also a huge part of the Colo-NESCO track and soccer teams. In track, Sara was the school record holder in the 800-meter run which she set in 1999 with a time of 2:29.09. This record was broken last year but was a record that lasted 25 years. Sara is also a part of the school record 4x800 meter relay which was set in 2001 with a time of 10:04.85 and helped this team finish 9th at the state track meet. Sara was also a part of the Distance Medley Relay record team which was set in 1999 with a time of 4:29.49, that team finished 16th at the state meet. Sara was also a 3-time state qualifier in the 1500-meter run. In soccer, Sara was a 2-time second-team all-state coaches association selection. These honors came during her sophomore and senior years. If not for an injury her junior year, Sara could have become a three-time all-state selection in soccer and a possible 4-time state qualifier in the 1500-meter run.

Brandon is a 2011 graduate of Colo-NESCO and is currently living in Huxley, Iowa. Brandon was a high-level 4 sport athlete for Colo-NESCO, he embodied the small school athlete mentality and that showed in playing every sport he could while at Colo-NESCO. Because of this attitude, Brandon holds multiple records in multiple sports such as baseball, track, and basketball. These records include; Baseball: home runs in a season, career batting average, On-base percentage, and Slugging percentage.
Basketball; Steals in a game, Steals and Rebounds in a season, Steals in a career. Track; Long Jump and briefly held the 400-meter hurdle record.
Other major accomplishments that Brandon accomplished during his tenure at Colo-NESCO include; 2009-2010 3rd team Des Moines Register all state basketball, 2010-2011 first team Des Moines Register all state basketball, first team INA basketball in 2010 and 2011. 2009, 2010, 2011 Ames Tribune basketball player of the year, TR All-Decade Team for basketball, basketball substate team in 2009, 2010, and 2011, IBCA 2nd team in 2011 for baseball. In track, in 2008 Shuttle Hurdle 11th place, the Shuttle Hurdle 4th place in 2009, the 110-meter hurdles 13th place in 2010, 2011 runner-up in the 400-meter hurdles, 2011 3rd place in the long jump, 2011 4th place in the shuttle hurdle relay, and 2011 9th in the 110-meter hurdles, as well as many all-conference selections for basketball and baseball and all-district honors for football.

Lori is a 1989 graduate of Colo-NESCO and currently lives in Des Moines, Iowa. Lori Mein was an elite basketball player for Colo-NESCO during her tenure.
During Lori's junior year of high school she, as well as many other students made the transition from NESCO to Colo-NESCO. During those two years, Lori was selected for multiple awards. During her junior year, Lori was a part of the Ames Tribune All Mid lowa 1st Team as a guard, as well as the Mid Iowa Conference 1st team. During her senior year, she was selected again to the Ames Tribune All Mid lowa 1st Team as a guard, as well as the Mid Iowa Conference 1st team. She was also selected to the INA All-State 5th team making her the first all-state women's basketball player at Colo-NESCO.
That wasn't the only first that Lori contributed for Colo-NESCO. Lori helped her basketball team in 1989 make the girl's state basketball tournament.
This would make the 1989 team the first women's basketball team to make the state tournament and start a 4-year run at this tournament. Lori and her teams were trailblazers for the future of Colo-NESCO basketball.

Stan Vigness; While at NESCO and Colo-NESCO Stan was the head of Maintenance for the school district. Stan currently lives in McCallsburg, Iowa, and travels to Texas In the winter months for warmer weather.
Stan was a vital part of the Colo-NESCO CSD where he served the district for 36 years as head of maintenance. Stan's passion and dedication to the facilities was second to none. He truly cared for the school district and his work for the school district showed this!
Although Stan put all of his heart and soul into every part of the school, his favorite place to work was the softball field in his hometown, McCallsburg.
It would be no surprise to see Stan at the softball field after work hours mowing the field, edging the field, fixing the problems he knew would eventually arise, and many other things that helped the facility. Stan spent countless hours in the field and had a true passion for it. Although he is retired, you can still catch Stan helping out at the softball field in the summer, mowing! Because of Stan's true passion and dedication to the softball field, Colo-NESCO decided to name the softball field after him Stan Vigness Field, where you will catch Stan at pretty much every softball game in the summer on his golf cart.
